I started my career as a District Agent for Pearl Assurance back in 1987 covering South Bank & Normanby area, later transferring to Stokesley, Great Ayton and out to Bilsdale.

I was subsequently promoted to Sales Manager then District Manager and though I enjoyed my time as a manager, (mostly), I did miss dealing with clients face to face and offering that personal service which is quite rare these days.

In 2002, owing to the internal changes that didn’t suit either me or my clients, I decided to become an Independent Financial Adviser working through Family First, which was owned by an ex-colleague and trusted friend.
I should have made this move many years previous -“hindsight is a wonderful thing”.

I now work in the Esk Valley and Whitby area with Colin Grout, (whom I had previously worked with since 1994), offering totally independent financial advice to our clients.

On a personal note, I have a teenage daughter, Amy Louise and enjoy fishing, walking, golf, motorbikes and old cars.
