How
would you get by on £72.55 per week?
If
you were unable to work due to sickness, an accident or incapacity that
is exactly what you would receive from the State. But first you would
have to qualify by having paid enough National Insurance contributions.
Depending on your circumstances, you may receive some extra help?

2007.
Although
these questions may not appear relevant at this time, when you consider
the following statistics it becomes clear that they’re something you
may need to consider.
• 2.4 million people were claiming incapacity benefit in November 2002.
Almost two thirds of recipients were men.*
• Over 2 million people have been off work sick for six months or more
and may never be able to return to work.**
• 27,000 people each year leave work permanently as a result of injury
or ill health.**
•Workers in the UK are three times more likely to be off work for more
than three months due to illness and injury than to die.***
